WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT???
MCTREEMY....I LOVE IT!!!
For those of you who don't watch Men In Trees..first of all, why don't you? I know some people don't watch because of Anne Heche but she is really very good in this show. I actually like her better in this than I do Calista Flockhart in Brothers and Sisters. I used to be a huge Ally McBeal fan but there's something strange about her this time around. Somebody thought she had "work" done and I didn't think so but now I'm not so sure...the lips, maybe.
Anyway, they have now moved Men In Trees to Thursday after Grey's...could it get any better?? Thursdays are now so entertaining...even Survivor was really good tonight. I still think up to this point though this has been the most boring Survivor yet.
I call Wednesdays my scary creepy night, Thursdays can be...I don't have a name yet. I was going to call it something happy but Survivor was very nasty tonight and Grey's...my goodness, everyone's angry at everyone. I really don't like angry George. Didn't you just love the twins tonight though?
Wednesdays start with my second favourite show after Grey's...Bones...I love this show but it can be a little creepy. Then Criminal Minds...a lot creepy...actually very disturbing. I keep saying I'm going to stop watching it. It's one that I really don't care if I miss but it's right between Bones and Medium which they just started again and moved from Mondays. Very creepy also but VERY good.
As usual I've gotten off track...the promo tonight for Men In Trees....first McDreamy, then McSteamy, now McTreemy....sooo funny and SOOOO true. Jack is delightful. I just bought People's Sexiest Men issue and I haven't had a chance to go through it but I am fully expecting to see "Jack" in there!
I did quickly flip through to find Wentworth (for those of you who don't know who Wentworth is, please have someone remove that rock from on top of you! lol!!!) and I did NOT see him in there. I will more carefully peruse the pages tomorrow because drastic measures may have to be taken if he's not there...a letter writing campaign, protests, lobbying....something!!!! I'll keep you posted.
NEWSFLASH: They're going to do an All-Star Amazing Race!! Rob & Amber will be in it as well as the team that beat them...Joyce & Uchenna. Apparently BJ & Tyler will not be in it, neither will that awful Jonathon and Victoria. I hope they get Kentucky back!
RETRACTION: Obviously my sources were mistaken about Studio 60 being cancelled. It seems to be going strong for now.
POSSIBLE NECESSARY RETRACTION: I heard and may have said that the Nine and Six Degrees were cancelled. They're not saying the Nine is cancelled, just that it's removed from the schedule....what??? So if it's like Six Degrees it may come back which this show is apparently doing in January....yippee!!!
STRANGE BUT TRUE: For fans of Vanished, which they definitely did cancel but decided to finish and tie up all the loose ends, you can only watch the last four episodes ONLINE! Are they crazy??? I don't want to watch shows on my computer!! It's bad enough they start a show, show four new episodes, show three reruns, pull it for two weeks then bring it back on a different night...but now this!!! If I'm wrong, please somebody let me know but that's what the website says.
Well, that's all I know or can make up for tonight. By the time you read this, it should be TGIF....have a great weekend!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRAM!!
Today is my Grandma's birthday...she turned 92! She's an amazing woman, she's still living on her own and other than not driving, very independent. She doesn't like to ask anyone for help...very stubborn...runs in the family!
She's a huge sports fan...loves the Blue Jays and the Maple Leafs...no, I'm not kidding! She watches all the games, no matter how late they go. In fact, tonight when I called her to wish her a happy birthday, she was watching the Leafs game. They just happen to be playing the Bruins, my favourite team. We joked about who was going to win.
I think my brother and I get some of our competitiveness from her. Whenever we all get together we love to play Scrabble...and we all want to win! Gram gets quite perturbed when somebody takes her spot on the board! She still loves to do puzzles, play cards, do needlework and everyday she does the crossword in the paper.
I hope I have half her spirit and zest for life when I'm her age...or even half her age!!

MY FAITH HAS BEEN RESTORED!!
Ok, my title might be a little overzealous but after what I heard today it certainly took a leap in the right direction.
I've been meaning to post a rant about OJ Simpson and the contempt I feel for him. Not many people can get away with murder (strictly my opinion), then be found liable and sentenced to pay $35 million dollars to the victim's families but then somehow manage to never pay a cent while living it up on every golf course in the country. If that isn't bad enough, he then writes a book about the murders and how he would have done them. THEN, to top it off he does an interview describing this and take one guess which network was going to broadcast it...who else...FOX Network. I couldn't believe it..I was disgusted! (ok, there's my rant after all)
As for my faith being restored...I heard today that not only is FOX not going to broadcast the interview but the book is being cancelled as well! There may still be hope! The only bad thing which I'm not sure about (the article didn't mention it) is whether or not he may have already profited from it, if he was paid ahead of time. I hope he never saw one penny from it, especially if what I also heard was true that the families would still not receive any money from him..not that they would want any of it anyway if it was from this particular venture.
My heart goes out to the victim's families. I can't imagine what they've gone through and still go through to this day, watching OJ live his life and continually mock them.

A FEW OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS
This late night post combines a few of my favourite things...Christmas music, a hastily composed little ditty..and it just happens to be about...what else....blogging....or should I say, one of my least favourite things...those nearest and dearest to me who have chosen to have blogs but not update them in a timely manner. I did not maliciously decide to write this, I was forced into it. Someone who shall remain nameless (oops, should have changed their name in the ditty...you know..to protect the innocent) and who hadn't blogged in weeks then has the audacity to put a post on their blog saying there are great things coming...soon...that was a week ago! Therefore, I think you can see how I was forced to reply with the following (I didn't think my first little retort of "so is Christmas" quite cut it).....
PLEASE SING THE FOLLOWING TO THE TUNE OF
JINGLE BELLS.......
dashing through this blog
oh what is there to read?
the same old stuff again
it's a new post that we need
where are you Sheri dear
it's time for you to write
so I am going to sit and wait
for a new post here tonight
oh...blah, blah, blog
blah, blah, blog
blogging all the way
oh what fun
it is to blog
on a cold and rainy day.........hey!!!!!
Bet you're singing along, aren't you? :-)

HUGH JACKMAN IS EVERYWHERE!

I've seen 2 movies in the last three days and Hugh Jackman was in both! I took Emily to see Flushed Away on Sunday and last night I went with my girlfriend to see The Prestige.
Flushed Away was really good...probably one of the better animated ones we've seen in a while and as for The Prestige, I can't say enough about it...FABULOUS!! A thriller with twists and turns throughout, it keeps you guessing right to the end!

I MISSED MY CHANCE!
Well, today there were two chances for a little bit of fame and I unfortunately missed both of them.
This morning in Toronto they were trying to break a Guiness World Record for the longest can-can line, dance line, whatever you want to call it. You just had to show up near the Hummingbird Centre around 8:30 and do a little high steppin' with about 2000 other people and you would have been part of the World Record. The previous record was set in Germany with about 1100 people I believe. I had gotten an email from American Express telling me about it but in the back of my mind I was thinking it was near the end of November. I knew my girlfriends in Mississauga would have gladly gone with me, well Marianne would've for sure. She is definitely a "seize the moment" person and I'm so lucky to have been friends with her for so long. We've had a lot of adventures along the way and I know she would have jumped at this little one too. Anyway, by the time I realized it was today I couldn't swing it.
The reason they were doing it was probably to publicize the Radio City Christmas Spectacular show which is in Toronto for something like 84 shows between now and Christmas. It features the Rockettes and the Christmas show that is in New York every year. I've always said I wanted to go to New York at Christmas just to see that show and the tree in Rockefeller Centre. My girlfriends and I have been to New York a couple times but never at Christmas. Needless to say I was very excited to hear the show was coming to Toronto and already have tickets for Emily and I.
The second shot at fame was an open casting call for a movie filming in Guelph tonight. A girl I work with and her husband were going. Anyone that knows me is probably wondering why I didn't jump at the chance. Well, everyone is being made up like zombies...it's for Night of The Living Dead!!! I decided to pass, even though their names will be in the credits...but you'll never recognize them...no thanks...I passed on that one!
And thanks to that certain "friend" who told me that at least I wouldn't need much makeup if I did it! HA HA HA..I have such funny friends....NOT!!

BUSY SUNDAY
Sunday was about as equally busy as Saturday. Emily had a soccer game first thing in the morning...8 o'clock. My husband wasn't around, he spent the night at friends of ours in Linwood after the Lions Elimination Draw and Dance last night. I don't like getting up early on weekends!! (that's me whining!) After soccer I had to take Emily to St. Jacobs for a birthday party. It was at a new place called Once Upon a Fairytale. If you're looking for somewhere to have your kids birthday, you might want to give them a try. They have all sorts of different themes for girls and boys...Princess, Harry Potter, Fear Factor. The one Emily went to was a Bratz theme. They did their hair, makeup and nails and they provided the food, the cake and the goody bags. They also taught the kids a dance which the kids showed the parents at the end.
They also do activities during the week like craft nights and kids cooking classes. They're just short..usually around an hour and only cost $5. I haven't taken the kids to any of those though so I'm not sure what they're like.
The website is www.onceuponafairytale.ca.
My Sunday evening then consisted of a relaxing few hours of some actually, very good TV...but then again it is November sweeps. The shows pull out all the stops...good grief, Desperate was like the wild west..I was shocked! And is there anyone that didn't shed a tear when Kentucky got eliminated from the Race. They were on the View Monday and apparently were given vacations, a computer, a new vehicle and a NEW HOUSE..and other stuff which I just can't remember!!
And that, my friends, was the end of another weekend, which once again whizzed by!

A WIGGLES WEEKEND
What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon...then at the Wiggles show....woohoo! Actually I love going to shows with the kids. The excitement and joy on their faces is unforgettable and even makes the small fortune that it costs, worthwhile! I can't believe how much it cost me for four tickets (my mom came with us), parking, a souvenir for each of them which I swore I wasn't going to buy, and dinner out after. What I won't do for those kids!
Actually, the Wiggles show is one of my favourites...and a favourite of mom's everywhere if you know what I mean. There's not many kids shows where you'll see someone holding up a sign asking one of the performers to marry them!
This was the second time we've seen the Wiggles, well, Jesse's first. The other time was about four years ago when Emily was three or four. I enjoyed that first time more, the venue was smaller (Hummingbird vs Rogers Centre) and the show was mainly the four guys and the three or four other characters from their TV shows. This time they had dancers and all sorts of extra people. You can certainly tell how popular they've become. Life just isn't fair...these guys get up on stage for about 90 minutes, sing some songs, and have a great time and I swear they must be bizillionaires by now. They used half of the Rogers Centre and it was packed, even the upper level. The tickets are around $50 each, kids and adults are the same price and the souvenirs are so expensive but sell like crazy. Apparently the Wiggles are worth more than any other entertainer in Australia, including Russell Crowe or Nicole Kidman. Don't get me wrong though, the show is very good and kids love them. Emily was so excited when she got to give one of the guys a "high five" when he came up into the audience.
If you get the chance to take your kids I'd highly recommend it.

Captain Feathersword cracks me up!!!! He likes to get the other guys laughing and then he can't stop laughing himself..kind of like me, laughs at his own jokes!

WHEN DID I LOSE CONTROL?
Well I'm finally getting arounding to posting about Halloween and my realization that my kids are growing up quickly, becoming so independent and I'm losing control. Actually they have always had their own ideas but up until now I could sway them my way. It's nothing as serious as I'm making it sound...just Halloween costumes. They saw what they wanted and that was that. The last few years I've been able to "help" them decide...and they co-ordinated and looked oh-so-adorable. Three years ago they were a devil and an angel, two years ago Mickey and Minnie Mouse and last year Jesse was a fireman and Emily was the black cat that as he put it "I will save from the tree"! (It sounded more like "twee" then). This year Jesse was Tigger and Emily was a fairy...not exactly what I had in mind but they were certainly cute anyway!
They had a great time trick-or-treating. My husband took them to some friends of ours so the kids could all trick-or-treat together. It was the dads turn to go with them this year so I didn't bother going along. That's the first year we didn't all go together and I really missed seeing them go door to door, especially with Jesse at his age, he was so excited (even though most of the candy was chocolate and he doesn't even like it).
He apparently helped hand out candy too...to all the "customers" as he called them. I asked him what customers he was talking about, he gave me the "duh" look and said "the customers that came to the door for candy". I cracked up!!

Jesse wasn't too crazy about the pumpkin "guts"!
Our very scaaarrryyy pumpkins!
