I can't believe my dear little Emily turned 8 today..not so little anymore I guess! Such a beautiful girl, inside and out, and wise beyond her years.
Some of my favourite things about her:
- Her huge smile,infectious laugh and sense of humour. She loves to tell jokes and she's a lot like me...laughs at her own jokes and sometimes telling a story is difficult because she laughs through the whole thing.
- Her imagination and creativity. She amazes me with pictures she draws and stories she writes...definitely doesn't get that from me!
- Her "flair for the dramatic". She once said to me "I'm the dq of the family aren't I mama?" I asked her what that meant and she said "the drama queen" and then of course, laughed.
- Her love of reading. I started buying books for her when I was pregnant and sometimes I think I've gotten so many over the years there's almost too many to choose from! That will never be a regret though. I'm thrilled to pass along my love of reading and just love it when she gets excited about a book she's reading and can't wait to finish it.

Tormenting her brother...in the nicest and most loving way of course!
Asking me "what are we doing today mama?"....first thing in the morning...every day of every weekend...cracks me up!!

Every day is definitely a new adventure and I can't wait to see what the future holds! Happy birthday my dear Emily!!
