LONG WEEKENDS DON'T SEEM SO LONG ANYMORE!
Why do long weekends always go by so quickly? A week ago I had one thing planned for the weekend, thought the rest would be relaxing and we could "play it by ear". That quickly changed..in a good way though!
Saturday Emily had a birthday party to go to so Jesse and I had a nice lunch together and did some shopping while we waited for her. Then that evening my sister-in-law Cindy brought her daughters and we all went and saw Shrek The Third. It was pretty good, definitely not as good as the first but the kids really liked it and that's all that matters! Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it too and of course, the "inside" jokes they throw in for the adults are always good (like the shoebox that said "Ye Olde Foot Locker"...cracked me up!).
Sunday my mom and I took Jesse to Toronto to see the "GO DIEGO GO" show. It was fabulous, he loved it! The Hummingbird Centre is a great venue to see any show but kid's shows in particular are always exceptional there.
Monday I took the kids to my mom's and I went to visit my Grandma. She's moving to a retirement home next week after living in the same house for over 60 years. The house has already been sold and we're going to have a yard sale for any contents that are left so I wanted to take some pictures of the inside before everything was in total disarray. I also helped her with a couple things she wanted done and then we spent the rest of the time going through old photographs. I had borrowed a lot a while ago to make copies of so I could eventually scrapbook them but when she was going through stuff she found more. She told me the history behind them so I wrote everything down to keep with all the other information she's already given me. I have many more questions I'd like to ask but I don't like to bombard her all at once, especially now. She seems to be looking forward to the move but I'm sure next week is going to be very emotional for her.
Of course I also had to watch all the weekend season finales...Desperate Housewives (can take it or leave it), Brothers and Sisters (one of THE BEST shows on) and 24. Do they really expect us to think Jack is going to "end it all" at that cliff? Do they think we're fools...2 more seasons at least...without Jack...I don't think so!
Anyway, that is the long and short of my long weekend. Yes, I know, a little late but lately...that's nothing new!!
